Manu Rossi Yoga Teacher

Manu Rossi

I have been teaching Ashtanga Yoga for 20 years in the UK, Italy, Dubai and Japan. I’m a Yoga Alliance Professionals UK Senior Yoga Teacher and KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) Authorised Level 2 Ashtanga Yoga Teacher.

I started practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 1997 while studying History of Art and Conservation at the University of Siena, Italy. Yoga quickly became part of my daily life because of the immediate physical and mental benefits I experienced, and in 1999 I began an apprenticeship with my teacher Francesco Sangalli in Montevarchi, Tuscany.

In 2000 I began teaching Ashtanga Yoga professionally, full-time, whilst continuing my personal daily yoga practice and yoga studies with Francesco Sangalli and Lino Miele.

Since 2005, I’ve trained at KPJAYI in Mysore, India, for several months each time, to improve my yoga practice and learn directly from K Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois. I was authorised to teach Ashtanga Yoga by Sharath Jois in 2010.

From 2006-2009, I taught Mysore Style and Led Ashtanga Yoga classes at The Life Centre, The Fulham Yoga Shala, The Light Centre and private classes in homes and workplaces in London. I also advanced my yoga practice and knowledge under the guidance of Hamish Hendry, attending daily Mysore Style classes at Astanga Yoga London.

In 2009, I established Ashtanga Yoga Oxford and for the next 9 years taught Oxford’s first daily Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga programme, with my wife Bella Rossi. I also taught weekly yoga classes to students and staff at the University of Oxford – Linacre College, Nuffield College, Balliol College, Merton College and Christ Church College and to a variety of individuals and small groups in their homes and offices.

I covered daily Mysore Style programmes at Under the Light Studio, Tokyo (2010), Ashtanga Yoga Dubai (2014 & 2015, and taught at The Breathing Space Studio, Tuscany and The European University Institute, Florence, Italy (2018-19) as well as in-depth yoga workshops and yoga retreats in the UK and internationally.

I’m currently based with my wife and son in the beautiful Cotswolds where I offer yoga classes, teacher mentoring, workshops and retreats.
